Nashville-based naviHealth, a manager of postacute care benefits,  has received an infusion of capital from BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners and Ascension Health Ventures, the company announced today.

A report from PriceWaterHouseCoopers indicated that naviHealth received $4.1 million from Sandbox Industries LLC, which manages BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners, and an undisclosed firm. naviHealth spokesman Dan Zacchei said the figure cited in the report “did not accurately reflect the entirety of the investment,” but he would not provide the total investment figure.
The company’s other principal investors include Welsh, Carson, Anderson and Stowe, Universal American and Select Medical Corporation.
naviHealth works with insurance companies and healthcare providers to make sure a patient’s recovery process goes smoothly after being released from a medical facility.
